The IEC catalog frames IEC 61511-1:2016 as a process sector implementation of IEC 61508:2010, with IEC 61508-1:2010 as the parent basic safety publication. A vendor page can name either, both or neither, and each wording means something different.

  • HIMA’s fire-and-gas page is listed on HIMA HIMax: the listing records HIMax as certified in accordance with IEC 61511 up to SIL 3.
  • Yokogawa’s ProSafe-RS page calls it an IEC61508 and ANSI/ISA 84 compliant safety system. The Yokogawa ProSafe-RS listing also records IEC 61511-1 from the page’s standards list.
  • exida’s exSILentia page describes a suite for the Safety Instrumented System functional safety lifecycle. The exSILentia listing records an IEC 61511 compliance-documentation module and an IEC 61508 compliant SIL-verification engine.
  • Rockwell AADvance names IEC 61508 up to SIL 3 and IEC 61511-1.

Editorial judgment: Read these as three kinds of claim: certified hardware or logic solver, engineering-lifecycle tooling, and documentation support. None of the cited pages says its product is an AI-management product, and none gives a SIL to a machine-learning model; the listings say so explicitly. A buyer asking about AI near a SIS should therefore treat these listings as the surrounding safety infrastructure, not as evidence about the AI function itself.
