ISO 26262-1:2018 is intended to be applied to safety-related systems that include one or more electrical and/or electronic (E/E) systems and that are installed in series production road vehicles, excluding mopeds. It addresses hazards caused by malfunctioning behaviour of safety-related E/E systems, not AI methods.

ISO/PAS 8800:2024 then applies to safety-related systems … that use AI technology in the same series-production road-vehicle setting. It addresses the risk of undesired safety-related behaviour at the vehicle level due to output insufficiencies, systematic errors and random hardware errors of AI elements. The catalog does not provide specific guidelines for software tools that use AI methods.

UL 4600 is a safety argument for vehicles that can operate in an autonomous mode without human supervision. It is not ISO 26262 and not an aviation AMC. See UL 4600 versus aviation and DoD autonomy.

No official catalog page we cite says these three documents are one certificate. Listings are tagged only when a cited vendor page names the standard. Ansys medini analyze names ISO 26262. Ansys SCADE Suite names qualification for ISO 26262 software up to ASIL D. Rapita RVS names ISO 26262 certification evidence. TESSY is qualified according to ISO 26262 and names ISO 26262-8:2018 on its TÜV SÜD certificate. Parasoft C/C++test and UL Stages name ISO/PAS 8800. UL Stages also names UL 4600.
