On the AI Act Service Desk Annex I page, Section B lists Regulation (EU) 2023/1230, machinery, as item 21, marked new. Section A item 1 is shown as deleted.

Article 2(2) says that for high-risk AI systems under Article 6(1) tied to Section B legislation, only Article 6(1), Article 60a and Articles 102 to 112 apply. Machinery-specific AI requirements are therefore expected to come through the machinery legislation itself. Regulation (EU) 2023/1230 is the text to read for that; the directory’s framework explainer records the recitals and the delegated-act date it cites.

We have not found an official page that says Chapter III of the AI Act applies directly to machinery products in Section B.

Editorial judgment: A robot or machine vendor claiming “AI Act compliance” should be asked which instrument the claim rests on. For a machinery product the Service Desk pages point to the machinery regulation, not to a standalone AI Act conformity route. Listings such as Universal Robots PolyScope name Regulation 2023/1230 on their own pages; the AI Act is not named in that listing’s cited evidence.
